Titling

APA Titling and Specialisation recognises members with advanced expertise and experience in their relevant area of practice.

APA Titled physiotherapists are highly qualified physiotherapists with expert knowledge and skills in their area of practice. They undergo a rigorous selection process to ensure that they achieve and maintain exceptional standards of clinical experience and knowledge.

The APA Title serves as a professional mark of distinction.

As the first step to specialisation, members that demonstrate an advanced level of competency and experience in their field of practice may apply to the APA national groups to be awarded the right to use an APA Physiotherapist Title.

The Titles awarded by groups are:

  • APA Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapist
  • APA Continence and Women's Health Physiotherapist
  • APA Gerontological Physiotherapist
  • APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (experiential pathway currently on hold)
  • APA Neurological Physiotherapist
  • APA Occupational Health Physiotherapist
  • APA Paediatric Physiotherapist
  • APA Pain Physiotherapist
  • APA Sports Physiotherapist

The Code of Conduct precludes physiotherapists from using these titles unless they have achieved titled membership of the APA.
