Course: Continence and Women's Health Physiotherapy Level 1

This is an introductory 2 day course aimed at those who are not currently working in the area of continence and women’s health. If you encounter perinatal and/or menopausal women during your daily practice, via exercise classes, hospital rosters or musculoskeletal/clinical work, then this is the course for you.

Learning Outcomes:

Completing this course will enable you to:

  • develop an understanding of pelvic floor anatomy and function
  • understand how to teach pelvic floor exercises in a range of class settings, with a focus on pregnancy, postnatal and menopausal patients
  • examine urinary and bowel function and dysfunction
  • learn about exercise and musculoskeletal assessment and management of patients in the child-bearing years and menopausal patients.
