Course: Optimising Motor Control of the lumbo-pelvic region with Trish Wisbey-Roth


This course provides a comprehensive exercise rehab program for the lumbo pelvic and a wide variety of hip conditions that present for assessment. This two-day course is very practical where participants are exposed to a wide variety of functional exercises and theory/research behind how to assess and progress a lumbo/pelvic stability program.

A comprehensive exercise protocol also specific to presenting Hip dysfunction will be explained and demonstrated in detail with take home exercise templates for clinical use. The muscle assessment and exercise program design can be progressed from very specific isolating and retraining of individual spinal, pelvic and hip muscular stability through to dynamic functional movement patterns required for work, ADL through to high level sport.

Learning outcomes

  • Assessment of dysfunctional local/global muscle recruitment patterns of the lumbar spine, pelvis and hips. 
  • A grading system to assess and progress a lumbo pelvic  program from the acute to return to normal function
  • Wide variety of graded  stability and functional exercises using motor control cues and aimed at appropriate level for patient
  • Design an effective hip exercise program specific to presenting dysfunction and progressed through a graded approach
