2017 Vic Branch End of Year Physiotherapy Breakfast

Join us at the annual Vic Branch End of Year Breakfast.

Keynote Speaker: Tania Pizzari will present "'Bridging the Space: Research to Practice in Subacromial Pain".

Shoulder disorders are a leading cause of pain and disability in our population with one in three people experiencing shoulder pain at some stage in their lives. Symptoms are often persistent and recurrences are common. Controversy exists around the terminology, aetiology, diagnosis, and management of shoulder pain.  This presentation will highlight these controversies and identify current evidence for the management of subacromial pain.

Dr Tania Pizzari is a principal physiotherapist and co-owner of a physiotherapy practice in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. She is also a researcher at the La Trobe University Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre. Her research interests include rehabilitation of shoulder conditions, electromyography of the shoulder and hip, soft tissue injuries in football as well as hip muscle and function. Tania has published over 60 articles across these topics and regularly presents her research nationally and internationally. She is a member of the Shoulder and Elbow Physiotherapists of Australasia and clinical editor of the APA publication Sports Physio.
